The surrounding area consists of only a few private holiday homes scattered about in the distance. The raised location on a rock plateau allows a wonderful view of the unforgettably colourful sunsets in the sea. Not to mention the interior with its forested hills. The extensive nature reserve in which the neighbourhood is situated guarantees you will have quiet, relaxing holidays.
Sant Joseph with around 14,000 inhabitants the San Jose area is one of the biggest municipalities on the island. It has a number of fine cafes, restaurants and galleries as well as shopping facilities to satisfy the needs of tourists staying in the area. It’s easy to find everything you need in the supermarket as well as newspapers, fashion items, household decor and handcrafts. Many people-predominantly from Germany, England or the mainland- have chosen to live in the zone thus guaranteeing a colourful mixture of cultures and languages. Nonetheless, it’s a small place that has conserved its typical Ibizan flair. You can enjoy breathtaking views westwards over the wide, open valley all the way down to San Antonio from the vantage point of the island’s highest mountain, the 475m high Sa Talaia just outside the town.
